Nativity Offsite Day Retreat #2
Back to Calendar
Do you ever ask yourself...Where do I belong? What should I be doing with my life? Join Nativity members and friends for an amazing day of exploration at a local historic property and learn practical skills to live daily life to the fullest. God is waiting to reveal more and more to you about your purpose and His plan for your life. The day will be lead by Nicholas Amato who has become a familiar face at Nativity. He serves as a Greeter and Eucharistic Minister on campus and on occasion he assists by celebrating Mass. He is a priest of the Archdiocese of Baltimore and has been ordained 48 years. For over 20 of these years he served as pastor of the Shrine of the Sacred Heart in Mt. Washington and Our Lady of Grace in Parkton, Md. Nicholas is a graduate of the Shalem Institute and has taken three-month sabbaticals in Rome, in Israel, and at Mepkin (Trappist) Abbey in South Carolina, where he is an associate member. He served as adjunct faculty at the Shalem Institute for Spiritual Formation in Washington and was also on the Spiritual Formation staff at St. Luke Institute in Silver Spring. He leads contemplative directed retreats at five retreat centers along the East Coast and was Executive Director of the Mepkin Priest Wellness Program. In addition to his retreat ministry, he has published two books: Living in God’s Presence: Contemplative Prayer and Contemplative Action and this year, Moving from Stress to Joy. He has Masters degrees in Counseling and in Theology, and a Doctorate in Educational Management.
